Over the years, opportunities for Hope for the Flowers to be made into a movie have arisen, but for various reasons, the realization of Stripe and Yellow in that form has not occurred. Yet, it remains a strong possibility, with the help and support of the book's fans, like YOU!

We celebrating Hope's 40th birthday in 2012 and invite you to join us! With your help and this global technology which did not exist before, we are hoping to reach as many of the 3,000,000+ people who have enjoyed and been inspired by Hope through the years as possible.

The Kickstarter has expanded our community of support for Hope, and we will be searching out the ways to continue expanding the outreach of Hope For the Flowers.

Animation, in these days of the Internet, e-books & apps, as well as film is a powerful way and takes many forms. Your donations will help this happen, and we will be letting you know about our progress.

If enough money comes in to make the pilot using the unique technique of Yves Dalbiez which seems so right for the animation of Hope, we will begin when Yves is available. In the meantime, we are searching out other fundraising and animation alternatives.

We are also hoping to soon launch the e-book version of Hope For the Flowers, and explore the forms of animation that relate to this hybrid medium. Exploring the e-book world is like pioneering into the wild West, with new learning every day, and rules which seem to change by the week.

We also hope to have a special new printing of the book and other special surprises available for Hope's 40th anniversary year! We hope you'll continue to be part of Hope's community of supporters!

This site is made possible by two caterpillars who because they mistake the meaning of their urge to get high, get entangled climbing a horrible "caterpillar pillar." And for two caterpillars, we all know, surrendering to the cocoon is the only way to finally fly. All over the world this parable has brought new hope to millions.

Hope For the Flowers celebrates HOPE. My wish for you is that your hope is strengthened in these difficult times and you find your special way to bring peace to the whole world.

With your help, we are hoping to reach as many as possible of the 3,000,000+ who have enjoyed and been inspired by Hope for the Flowers, so that we can share developments as we celebrate Hope's 40th Anniversary! The Hope team encourages you to continue to share your wonderful and moving stories of how this story has touched your life personally as we create a online community utilizing the new tools available through social media.

The song Hope for the Flowers was performed at the Bioneers by the Bay 2009 in New Bedford, Mass. This video shows images of Costa Rica, where the song was written and is sung by many of the local people.
